The Native Justice Coalition is now accepting proposals for our 4th Anishinaabe Racial Justice Conference, taking place in the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community from September 29–October 1, at the Niiwin Akeaa Community Center in Baraga, MI. We encourage Anishinaabe, Native American, First Nations, Indigenous, and Métis presenters to focus on a broad array of topics that are related to racial justice, including, but not limited to: treaty rights, Anishinaabe storytelling, Indigenous law and policy, poetry, the arts, Two-Spirit identity, voting rights, MMIWG2S justice, healing justice, disability justice, climate justice, and food sovereignty, as well as boarding school healing and justice. Presentations typically last one hour, with room for exceptions. Presenters will have access to a computer and a projector.
Our call for proposals will close on Friday, June 30, 2023. We will promptly communicate a decision on your presentation submission via email. Selected presenters will receive an honorarium, lodging, and travel assistance if needed.
