As of Wednesday 12/14, our request form is now closed. We are assembling and shipping care packages on Friday 12/16.
Packages are being sent USPS. We would love to hear from you and what you think of the Cultural Care Packages!
Our Cultural Care Package initiative was a special project we had engaged in during the pandemic to support the Michigan Native American community across the state. We received a lot of positive and uplifting feedback regarding this initiative. This fall we applied for a grant through the Solidaire Network – Capacity Strengthening Fund and were awarded a grant for this work! We are excited to launch this initiative again and just in time for the December holidays!
We will distribute up to 300 care packages to individuals and families across the Michigan Native American community.
If you are interested in requesting a care package please read over our requirements. In the form below, share your tribal affiliations whether you are enrolled or not enrolled. We don’t need to see your status card or any paperwork but we do appreciate your honesty. While care packages can be requested by anyone we are emphasizing support for elders, veterans, disabled and/or homebound residents, low-income households, and boarding/residential school survivors. Finally, we request that you reside inside the colonial boundaries of Michigan. Complete this form below if you would like a care package mailed to you!
